Insignificant by Kelly Lincoln
My friend and fellow writer Kelly Lincoln has released her debut novel Insignificant (on Amazon and other good online-bookstores) which is fantastic and gripping read. It’s the first in the series of the Goldenrod books based on a rock band. She writes ‘out of the box’ and original romance which isn’t the easiest thing to do because she needs to keep loyal to her vision yet have keep those essential things that make it part of the genre.
Most romances stories tend to follow a tried and tested plot line, with a checklist of situations, twists and turns and give a neatly packaged ending. Not Ms Lincoln. It’s starts off lovely and sweet then things hit the fan and it’s one heck of a ride. The only assurance the reader has it will end happily, is the genre. So thoroughly engaging and nail biting story.
Her underlying themes and premise tend to be about real people in bad situations who somehow manage to find love, and this love helps them a long way to become better people or move on.
I’d classify it as New Adult because of the ages of the characters with sexy theme.
So lets talk about this book.
Her lead character and heroine Taylor isn’t doing too well in life and in a relationship with a loser. She has no job, is different with her rings and body piercings and tattoos but is trying to make it in life. However people don’t seem able to look past her appearance to give her a break.
She gets into a situation where she meets Ethan – the hero of the story. Kelly likes to write about dependable handsome boy-next-door heroes with good jobs. The responsible types who also tick all the romance hero boxes but are real men in their supportiveness and generosity. Anyway Ethan wanders into Talyor’s life and when you think Taylor finally has a break….the story takes a twist.
It’s worth reading, and all the reviews say something different about it. That’s what so original about it, there isn’t a template to review this book, the only thing in common there review have in common is that it’s an excellent, suspenseful and romantic read.
It’s now available on Amazon – have a look at the sample and make your mind up. To be frank, just buy it, it’s less that the price of cup of coffee and gives you some timeout to enjoy something different. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Z7JEG2C?ref_=cm_cr-mr-title
